Bishops College Youth Action Committee has spearheaded fundraising and awareness building efforts on issues of local, national and international concern. In addition to fundraising in excess of $11,000 to support the Children's Wish Foundation the school has consistently mobilized their school to support local initiatives like VOCM's Coats for Kids Drive; Iris Kirby House and CYN's Street Reach program just to name a few. Their contributions to the global community have been equally as impressive. Annually the group have fundraised thousands of dollars to support the work of: War Child Canada, Oxfam Canada, World Vision's 30-Hour Famine and The Red Cross's Help for Haiti Fund. They've also partnered with other school groups and been actively involved in the Gay-Straight Alliance and helped organize Bishops College's first "Purple Week".
Melanie Lynch and Tyler Dalton accepted the Award on behalf of the group.
